Set up goals and areas

Updated October 28, 2026

Create a goal

Tap New Goal. Titanova first asks what success looks like:

  • Reach a Number: kilometers, money, pages or anything else with a unit.
  • Finish Tasks: done when its tasks are.
  • Complete Subgoals: the average of its subgoals.
  • Just Track: no number, just a place for related work.

A number goal has a unit, a Start, a Target and a direction: Increase, Decrease, Stay Above, Stay Below or Stay in Range. It can run Once or repeat Every Week, Every Month, Every Quarter or Every Year. Each period starts fresh, and past periods stay on the goal’s page.

Choose what counts

Under What Counts, turn on one or more sources:

  • Manual Entries: use Log Progress on the goal’s page.
  • Linked Habits: each log adds to the goal.
  • Linked Tasks: each completed task adds to it.
  • Apple Health: steps, workouts, sleep, weight and more, on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
  • Focus Time: for goals measured in time.

Titanova adds it all up and converts units. The goal’s page shows whether you’re on pace and what you need per day to get there.

Units

Pick from a long list of units, or tap New Unit… to make your own, like “cup” with 1 cup = 250 mL. Values convert between units of the same kind.

Subgoals, projects and the timeline

Break a big goal into subgoals and projects. The Timeline shows goals and projects on one chart, from a month to five years. Open it from Goals, or from a goal’s or an area’s menu. The timeline is part of Titanova Pro.

On iPad and Mac, Layout › Table shows your goals in a table you can sort.

Areas, covers and the vision board

Areas, like Health, Work or Family, hold your goals and give them a reason. Each area can have a Vision.

Open an area and use its menu:

  • Add Cover picks a photo for the top of the area.
  • Open Vision Board holds up to nine pictures.
  • Create Image makes a picture with Image Playground, and Create Icon makes one for the area’s icon. Both need a device with Apple Intelligence turned on.

Titanova removes a photo’s location and other details before it saves it. Your pictures sync through iCloud.
